About KV

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, CPCRI, Kasaragod was established in the month of August in the year 1980 as a Project Vidyalaya.
It was meant to meet the educational requirements of the children of the employees of the CPCRI, a prestigious organization under (I C A R).
KV CPCRI is situated in the pristine and luscious green residential campus of CPCRI and functions in a compact building and is only 6 kilometres away from Kasaragod railway station. Since its inception, the Vidyalaya has been producing quality results thereby contributing to the educational needs and progress of the district and always topped as the first ten Kendriya Vidyalayas in Ernakulam region. It is a single section school running classes up to class XII with science stream.
Though the building is a small one, it is fully equipped to cater to all the needs of teaching-learning process of the students. Apart from the class rooms there are separate laboratory for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. The laboratories have the necessary infrastructure making it convenient for the students to conduct their experiments. To foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and to inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, Atal Tinkering lab is functioning in the Vidyalaya.
Computer Education is provided to all students from classes III to XII. Apart from the academic ventures, a variety of co-curricular activities are also conducted with an aim to foster the all-round development of our students.
To make the class room transactions interesting, joyous and to meet the NEP requirements, we have smart class rooms with intelligent smart boards and projectors
For detailed reference and to inculcate reading habits among the students, we have a well stacked library that has more than15,000 books.
The Vidyalaya ground is an added highlight and most of the cluster and regional meets are held here.
The central part of the building is a quadrangle. The morning assembly and other activities are conducted here. We have a permanent stage too.
All the Vidyalaya activities are monitored by a 14-member committee known as Vidyalaya Management committee and a 5-member Executive committee. The Director, CPCRI is the Chairman of both VMC and VEC. The committees are creative in outlook and implement plans and activities leading to the progress of the Vidyalaya.
Our Vidyalaya has a well-trained academic faculty with Principal as its head. They are recruited and appointed centrally by KVS. Even after this recruitment, if any vacancy remains, they are filled through walk in interviews conducted for each academic year. The Vidyalaya stresses on pupil-oriented play way method of teaching and learning and surely enough, it is a highly sought after institution in the district.
